The NCCAOM establishes, assesses, and promotes recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public. Diplomates of the NCCAOM have met academic standards for training and passed a comprehensive standardized exam.

The ACAOM is the sole accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit professional master’s degree and master’s level programs in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

This Web site contains information about these formulas; articles on herbs, acupuncture, and specific conditions; articles by ITM founder and director Subhuti Dharmananda; and lists of accredited acupuncture schools and licensed practitioners.
